Skeuomorphism purposes
Skeuomorphism Professional uses/purpose for images for applications (which was mainly apple’s applications which they stopped using in 2009). Skeuomorphism and this its main purpose to make sure that an applications can “mimic” their real world counterparts in how they appear and how the user can interact with them. This makes it easier for users to identify the app that they may be looking for since the images of for the apps look just like the real world object. Aesthetics for the Skeuomorphic design
Mainly some designers and users love Skeuomorphic design because its style creates the illusion that digital images ,for example applications look 3D when it was made using a computer possible on a software like illustrator. Most people like the beauty of this design because it makes applications easier to understand as they are designed to “mimic” their real world counterparts. This also takes a lot of time however it is worth it to see the results when creating a Skeuomorphic design. In my opinion I do not like Skeuomorphic design as it is very time consuming and you are adding unnecessary shadowing in the background to make the image look 3D and really realistic even though Flat design can also make there images look somewhat realistic without adding unnecessary parts to the design. However i will admit that this style is very beautiful by the use of a lot of colors and the effects in the background to make it almost like it is 3D and unlike flat design there are many more colors being used in Skeuomorphic designs.
