Flat design
The professional use of Flat design is mainly for applications or on websites (just like Skeuomorphism).Flat design is also another way of making sure applications can “mimic” their real world counterparts however it is different to skeuomorphism as it doesn’t create an illusion that the user is looking a 3D image. However flat designs main purpose is to make user a websites content scales smoothly depending on a device’s screen size. By using simple shapes and minimal textures, flat design ensures that responsive designs work well and load fast.
Aesthetic for Flat design
Many designer including Apple are moving from Skeuomorphism(Learn about Skeuomorphism) to flat design mainly because it is more simple and it still can achieve the ability of making objects in a computer look and act like they do in real life. Flat design uses little colors and doesn’t need to look realistic so it is faster to be created. I prefer Flat design when doing small designs during my free time as they are quick and easy to create and just because they are easy and quick to create doesn’t mean they can’t be creative. The fact that there are sometimes only use of basic colors which make the Flat designs even better as it can be rendered faster if used on a webpage.
